21/02/11, Relentless Garage, NEON TREES.
Okay, so, I was the first one inside Relentless Garage (minus the staff, obviously), then Mitchell & Tom followed close behind, we got middle barrier. I was so excited for how small the venue was and how close the stage was, I was literally squealing every few minutes and being all typically girly and all like ‘look how close they’ll be ohh wowowowow’. Then a few more people got in and I heard them saying about how they were looking forwards to seeing Neon Trees ‘cause they’d heard good things. And I was thinking ‘yeah, well you’re here to see Mona, but NT will blow your mind, they’re so much better, you’re in for a treat’.. and then a boy who was next to me yelled ‘BRANDEN!’ so I looked round, and Branden was just there! He’d walked over to see us, it was so good. He shook the boys’ hands then I was like HEY and shook his hand, and then he was like ‘are you my twitter friend?’ and I said yeah, but inside I was thinking ‘OHHMYHEKNOWSWHOIAM’.. anyway he was really nice and shook Mitchell and Tom’s hand too and said that if we wanted we could go meet them afterwards, we just had to go wait at their merch place in the bar area, and they’d be there about 10 minutes after their set. I’d said to him on twitter that we were leaving before Mona started and he was like ‘you have to go after us don’t you?’ or something like that and I was like ‘nah we don’t but we are anyway, we’re only here for you’ and I was thinking ‘woah, he actually read my tweet’ It was so cool. Anyway he had to go and get ready so we said bye then waited for them to come on stage.
It was about 25 minutes and they finally came on stage, I was literally like AAAHHH!! When the music stopped so we knew they were coming on and the guy next to me laughed, it was quite funny. Then when I saw them all walk on it was so amazing, like, you see these people in videos on the internet and in pictures, but seeing them in real life so close, is so special, especially when they’re people you really admire. Anyway they went straight into Sins Of My Youth, and I was totally dumb-struck, Sins is one of my favourites, totally overwhelmed. And I hadn’t drank anything so I was singing my heart out but my mouth was so so dry, it was horrible, but it didn’t really spoil anything. I was just looking at them all and thinking ‘woah.. I’m seeing Neon Trees, they’re actually there.. Wowow’ ...
