To be completely honest I didn't like the Neon Trees AT ALL when I first heard them. What changed my mind was a concert I went to, which they opened for, on April 9th. Initially I went to the Fillmore for My Chemical Romance, but by the end of that night I was a die-hard Tree Hugger. The stage presence of Neon Trees, their sound, their originality, and their engulfing, how can I put it, awesomeness won me over. Tyler Glenn was all over the stage, Chris Allen rocked the guitar, Branden Campbell slapped the bass like no other, and to top it off Elaine Bradley threw her drumsticks into the crowd after they were done playing and I got one, after fighting over it for probably 10 min. Ever since Neon Trees has been my addiction, I'm their number one little monster, Tree Hugger, and fan. I live in Denver, Colorado (the United States of America) and hope to see Neon Trees again wherever they are! Right now it's looking like Las Vegas but who knows?! I'm a die-hard Tree Hugger and I can't wait to see Neon Trees again and listen to the new music they are yet to produce.

Prior to moving to Phoenix, while living in Salt Lake City, my children and I attended the Mountain Dew Tour. I am able to get three-day passes for the event because I am with the local union and help set up the structures for it. The first evening is when they do the concerts on the blocked off street and that Friday of 2010 is when we first experienced the rocking music of Neon Trees. I have 13 year old twins, Nevada and Shelbie, and an 11 year old, Haylee. Since the day after Christmas of '08, which is the day gang members shot and murdered my oldest (Ashley Marie Sparks God rest her), everyday life as you can imagine is no longer as easy as breathing. Its more like gasping for air and needing oxygen. My children struggle many days to just feel normal, so days like that Friday when they are walked back stage because we happened to be at the right place at the right time, holds more value to them then I can explain. My son, Nevada, is becoming quite the talented musician. Like his big sister that was killed, any instrument he picks up or sits down to he can play. Piano, drums, guitar, etc... While back stage enjoying the first band, Paper Tongues, we got pictures with part of the band members of Neon Trees and to this day when they speak to friends about it and encourage them to listen to their music I can still see how important and special it makes them feel. WE are from American Fork, Utah so the fact they are also from Utah County makes the excitement for them even larger. Is it a coincident or fate that my birthday happens to be May 12th as well? Either way I felt compelled to share my story with you today on Mothers Day!!! I am including pictures of that night as well as one of Ashley. The youngest boy in the pics wearing the black ball cap is not mine but the son of my best friend his name is Cody. I hope your day is filled with Happiness! And remember to always Keep On Keepin' On.

I remember the first time I heard Neon Trees. It was this past summer, shortly after Warped Tour had come to my state. At Warped I was sitting on the ground, tired from the day, and saw a little card. I picked it up and it had a number to text that would let me get a free album that featured a few artists. The album was called This Will Self Destruct and I only knew two of the bands on it, but I decided to get it because, hey, free music! So I downloaded when I got home and I remember loving the Neon Trees track Sin of My Youth. So I looked them up and really got into them. Their songs are just so catchy! When I first heard Animal on the radio I was super happy and proud that they'd be getting the attention they deserved.

Then last month I went to a My Chemical Romance concert and Neon Trees was one of the opening bands. They were amazing! Tyler has SO much energy and is just extremely fun to watch. I sang my heart out. I think it's really great when a band is not only musically talented, but fun to watch as well.

On a side note, after the concert I was sitting outside of the venue with my friends when Chris and Branden walked out. I cheered for the and clapped and then everyone else started to as well. Once they had walked away it occurred to me that they had just walked by. And I remained sitting. I could have gotten their autographs. Not the sharpest moment of my life... Haha.

Anyway, this is just a rather long way of expressing my love for the band and how it came to be.

Why do I love Neon Trees? That's a loaded question. I always assumed anyone whose ever really listened to their music high energy music, would instantly fall in love!
I remember the first time I heard Animal on the radio. It was after a long day of work, I was alone driving home, and started smiling as soon as Tyler's voice belted out through my speakers. My first thought was "K, (my 8yr old daughter) would LOVE this!" ... by the end of the song I was singing along. I sat in my truck until the DJ came on to announce I had been listening to Animal by a new band named Neon Trees. The next day, I told K she had to hear this new song I had heard.
She rolled her eyes, said "No,that's ok," and I YouTubed it anyway.
When I saw them I grinned at the front man's mohawk, cool points. As soon as she heard them singing, she grabbed the phone from my hand smiling. When the song went off she insisted on replaying it about 10 times... and said she wanted to hear more music from them. Calling My Name was song two. I'm thinking, "Dang, we may have found something here!" Our new morning ritual quickly became Neon Trees while getting ready, then turned into Neon Trees while on the road, K was DJ. I was fairly new to twitter, so I looked them up. Saw a tweet that said to follow "Tylerinacoma" had no clue who he was, but enjoyed reading his randomness. I figured it out finally one day when K confessed she thought the singer was cute (I had to look him up). I thought dang, he is,and that's that twitter guy, how funny! I was introduced.
As for the music, I love good tunes. But the lyrics I understood on a completely different level. I always felt the emotion of Tyler as he sung. I was going through a hard period in my life; I had been divorced for three years and hadn't even "dated" yet... as crazy or silly as it sounds, Neon Trees helped me realize those emotions didn't have to stay bottled up. (I must spare you the details of the entire saga)
K wanted a Neon Trees Birthday Party ... this is when I actually learned about Tree Huggers, Addicts, and Maniacs. I started tweeting with a few fans, and realized how much we have in common. I feel lost going a day without tweeting or facebooking them... they are my family of maniacs.
Mostly it's the positive influence they have over the young fans. I try to interact with them, because everyone of them are amazing. As cruel as the world is, everyone needs a safe place to be themselves, and see that people still care. Neon Trees has introduced many of them someone to talk to, that will be positive.
As for the bullying speeches, I couldn't be prouder of a band! I think everyone can relate to being bullied. Using their popularity, yet not being overbearing is a great way to be heard and listened to.
Meeting them confirmed what rad people they were. All of them were so nice to my daughter and her best friend! They made them feel special.
Why do I love the Neon Trees? They are caring, beautiful, funny, fun, good-hearted people with fans that are just as great! Oh, and they happen to be able to bust out some of the best songs ever!

Hi guys! I liked Neon Trees from the first time that I [heard] Animal. I said this is a great band cause to me, they're a different band. Some days after I bought Habits and I said I have to see them and everybody told me "Why you like that band? Nobody knows them." And I said I don't care, you don't know about music. So one day a friend told me, "hey Neon Trees is gonna be in concert" and said this is my opportunity. And I was working to buy my ticket and I went to see them from Mexico; I was like "woooww they're amazing!" and now I love them, they're my favorite band.

I became a devoted fan the first day I heard and met this fantastic group called “Neon Trees”. First of all allow me to let you know that I am not your typical fan, in the fact that I am 58 years of age. My daughter (age 25) and I would go to concerts usually whenever she couldn't find anyone else to go with her. However, that all has recently changed. Thanks to the Neon Trees, I now have a favorite group. This particular group has brought my daughter and I closer than ever before. We live in Florida but have traveled to NYC and California to see Neon Trees perform. Of course, we also hit all the local spots here in Florida that they are performing as well. Since December of 2010, we have seen them perform 7 times. In fact, when they came down to perform at SunFest in West Palm Beach, FL., I had contacted Chris through FaceBook regarding getting him and the rest into the Disney Parks. I had told him in NYC that since he/they have given us such joy in listening and watching them, I wanted to do something for them as well. POOF!!! Getting them into DisneyWorld. After I sent that particular message to him, it was only a matter of a few minutes when I received my response. Indeed, he and a few others did want to go into the parks and were very anxious to go. As it turned out besides Chris, Tyler and Branden showed up with Kate and another young lady. We all spent at least 3 hours together at the park. Needless to say, I did my best to keep it very low-key. In fact, there was only one young lady who spotted Chris . Of course, they all posed for a photo with her.

This group of young people are not only entertaining, but also very down to earth and very caring souls. I, along with many others, would be proud to call them “friend”. They are very special people and I wish them all the best of luck in their future.

The first time I heard Neon Trees I was at home getting ready to leave. I heard the Animal and had to stop and watch the video. I thought the song is so catchy and poppy not usually my cup of tea but I was starting to like it. The next day I was driving with my sister and we heard Animal on the radio and I told my sister how awesome the video was. When I got home I look up on the Internet who this band was. When I found them and listen to their music I thought it was awesome. The next day I told my sister that we NEED to buy the CD. Neon Trees became my obsession for months. Then in October we first saw them live at a radio station it was a little acoustic show but it was still awesome and they were so nice! May 15 will the first time I really see them live at a real show. I am so excited I'm taking my sister and our best friend who we also started the addiction that is Neon Trees. This is why I love Neon Tree there music is such a great sound and is like the soundtrack to a life that I would love to have. They inspire me to be myself and don't take anything from anyone. They are a great band that deserves all the good things that come to them!!

My reason for falling in love with Neon Trees:
About a month ago, I joined the ecology club at my school because of my friend. We then were asked whether we wanted to volunteer at Sunfest. I said sure, and my friend said we were going on Sunday so we could see Neon Trees. At that time, I only knew the one song, Animal. So I buy their cd to listen to over and over so I can learn the words. I look up pictures of them and learn all their names. Over the course of 2-3 weeks, I ONLY listened to Neon Trees, and fell in love with every single one of them, Tyler and Chris especially. Then I saw them at Sunfest, and fell even more in love because of how amazing they are live and how nice Tyler seems (I even got a picture with him! He was just standing in front of the stage a couple hours before the show).
I really want this vinyl, because I will cherish it like no other. Lately, I have been printing out god knows how many pictures of Neon Trees, and my mom is getting mad at all the ink I've been using.
And... that's it. Thanks for letting me enter!

After finding out who they were, I listened to the entire album, which was just right for the moment His voice just was can not even describe after hearing Animal, the next song was Farther Down and then I was hooked. And waiting for the 1983  video I was addicted, I was a Tree Hugger and an Addict proud to say those songs and album are the only ones that played at my house and was introduced to my friends until the day when I saw them in real life in NYC PC Richards was amazing and no turning back.
