At-a-glance: Neon Trees

"A Broadway-show-tunes, Ingrid Michaelson, and A Fine Frenzy fan myself, I was unsure of what to expect when I opened the first song of this 9-track CD. The first bittersweet notes of Sins of My Youth left me unsure, but then the band’s instruments kicked in after the bare, almost acapella-like beginning, and the instrumentals were upbeat and optimistic-sounding. Before the main vocals even started, I knew that the Neon Trees had created songs that would stick in audiences’ heads."
