B.O.M.B. Festival Blows Up Hartford

By the far the most impressive vocal performance of the festival, Neon Trees’ frontman Tyler Glenn blasted the stage in a sunflower-yellow leather jacket and trademark punk-rock haircut, leading the quartet in their pop-rooted rock anthems off their debut album, such as, “Animal” and “1983,” Glenn’s stage antics carrying the overall performance. He kicked off his shoes, climbed on amplifiers, wailed into the microphone and shouted to the crowd. “I want to take you to church!” He took off his jacket to reveal a black shirt slapped with a leopard-printed T on the back, confiding he sings about sex.
