Neon Trees Frontman Talks Early Influences

During a recent interview with windycitytimes.com, Glenn says he was touched early on by the music of bands like Depeche Mode, The Smiths and INXS.

"That was the music that really helped me find my voice and my look. It is the kind of music that I like. I think the music I grew up with was classic rock or punk. I liked music that had an edge and melody. I loved pop-art bands with that quality to them in the era of '80s and '90s."

Neon Trees Bringing Pop And Soul Sounds To New Songs

Neon Trees frontman Tyler Glenn has told Billboard the band is in the process of tweaking their sound. He adds that it has more of a pop and soul flavor than what fans heard on their first record, Habits.

During the interview, Glenn says the band is still touring hard behind their 2010 release but they're also beginning to work on a new album.
