Neon Trees rock the San Diego County Fair

If there was a roof over the Heineken Grandstand stage at the San Diego County Fair, the Neon Trees would have blown it off.

Starting the show with an obvious fan favorite, “Sins Of My Youth,” lead singer Tyler Glenn got everyone chanting the lyric, “I’ve got these habits that I cannot break.” The set list only got better, escalating from “Love and Affection” to the band’s first hit single, “Animal.”

Q & A with Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees

After releasing Habits a little over a year ago, Provo-based band the Neon Trees have gone far; they’ve constantly been touring, playing at this year’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival and will be making an appearance at Bonnaroo in June. But most importantly, they’ll be playing at the San Diego county fair on June 22 at the Del Mar fairgrounds!

Neon Trees light up the stage again at Coachella 2011

" It was a thrilling set with the band appearing in 80s informed ostentatious regalia complete with feathers and chains. Tyler Glenn took off various pieces of his clothing and threw them out into the audience once he tired of them-to a point. He paused when someone yelled for him to take his shirt like he was thinking about how embarrassing that would be. He threw his shoes into the audience and people begged for socks. "
