Bonnaroo 2011: 10 Things Seen & Heard Sunday

Bonnaroo 2011 came down from its Saturday high with an epic Widespread Panic set, a subdued Strokes one and an abbreviated one by Dallas Mavericks fans Explosions in the Sky. Offstage, fans led dance circles, chipped in for Neon Trees and snatched up merch and artist-tossed banana peels. Here are 10 highlights from the fest's closing day:

Neon Trees Writing Songs with 'Pop Sensibility' for Next Album

The singer-keyboardist tells Billboard.com that the Utah quartet is "doing what we can on the road, 'cause we're still heavily touring off (last year's 'Habits'). I'm the guy in the band that wishes we could be making a new record now. My favorite place to be is playing live, but I'm really, really excited and eager to have new music to perform. And I also realize we made kind of a short first album, so I want to be able to keep providing." He predicts that the next album "probably won't be (released) 'til early next year," however.

Neon Trees wins Billboard Award

Neon Trees, whose members Tyler Glenn (vocals) and Chris Allen (guitar) are originally from Murrieta, took home the Billboard Music Award on Sunday night for Top Alternative Song.

Neon Trees puts Overseas Stardom on their "Wish List"

" World conquest is on Neon Trees' mind these days. 
The Utah quartet has been riding high on the success of Animal, the Alternative Songs chart-topping single from its debut album Habits, and it recently returned from its first trip to the U.K. to play a round of shows in the U.S. through mid-December. Bassist Branden Campbell tells Billboard.com the group plans to spend more time across the pond in the new year. "

New single "1983" debuts on Billboard's Alternative chart at #37

In a Top 40 radio climate totally dominated by solo R&B-influenced males and solo females, alternative rock band Neon Trees has done the near impossible and scored a Top 20 hit with the catchy “Animal” (In part, no doubt, due to its placement in a television commercial for Las Vegas). They are the only rock band in the Top 20.
