The New Rocker - With Not Much Hair

But this might be too good an opportunity to miss. Although I knew nothing of the band, I figured they must be good to be invited all the way from Utah to Singapore for a paid concert in the park. I googled "Neon Trees", watched a YouTube of its performance and decided to garner the energy.

I did not regret one bit...

When the Neon Lights Go Down…

They got everyone going “Oh oh I want some more” and judging by their sold-out concert in Singapore last Tuesday, everyone can’t get enough of Neon Trees, the alternative rock band from Utah.

The quartet that once opened for bands like The Killers, My Chemical Romance and Angels & Airwaves, charmed the reporters present at Somerset Liang Court with their amiable personalities.

Made up of lead vocalist Tyler Glenn, guitarist Chris Allen, bass player Branden Campbell and drummer Elaine Bradley, the band produces a sound that reminds one of love lost and adolescent angst done in a refreshing yet slick synthetic pop-rock fashion, with lyrics that were sincere and heartfelt.

Neon Trees ‘LIVE’ in Singapore

But, to put it in a few words, it seems Tyler takes his showmanship very seriously, thank you very much. The passionate rocker is a wild thing let loose once the music comes on.
One should have gotten an inkling of the crazy times to come when he swaggered up onstage in his black, shiny rocker vest and funky red shades. It was just his way of making an entrance as the band started the show with current single, Your Surrender.

Neon Trees illuminates Singapore

Rock on with alternative music’s next big thing — Neon Trees, one of America’s most acclaimed alternative rock bands that is hitting the stage in Singapore for a one-night only performance.

For the very first time, the band will be performing hits such as “Animal” from its debut album Habits. Expect tunes of adolescent angst with love themes from the band, which Entertainment Weekly has defined as the “best bets for airwave domination”.

Glow with Neon Trees

American Alternative rock band, Neon Trees, known for hits like "Animal" and "1983" is finally coming to town, to kick-start their first ever Asian tour.

Set to perform at Fort Canning Park on 26 July, the four-member band says fans should pack loads of energy for their show.

"You can expect a lot of energy. We think it's really important to put on a good live show. We don't wanna be a band that just gets up and plays the album like it is, you know you could've just listened to the CD than come to see us" said drummer Elaine Bradley in a phone interview.

Neon Treats

If you only know American rock band Neon Trees from watching their music videos or YouTube posts of their live shows, then you only know half the story, says lead singer Tyler Glenn.

The band has, in the past year, made headlines not just with their songs that have oh-so-singable choruses and hummable riffs like Animal, 1983 and In The Next Room, but also with their distinctive, almost New Wave look.
