TNT Down Under Interview with Neon Trees

Utah-based alt rockers Neon Trees first rose to prominence when the Killers hand-picked them as touring buddies a few years back. Nowadays, however, they’re big in their own right. Last year’s debut album, Habits, was a hit, as was the massive single “Animal”. Currently in the US after a UK tour, they’re in Australia next week, so we called up singer Tyler Glenn.

Neon Trees @ Prince Bandroom

On Thursday 4th of August Neon Trees took to the stage in front of their fan base predominantly consisting of young, somewhat attractive females and conversely seedy, pathetic guys who were trying to pick up these females. But enough about the audience, because we’re here to review the performance of this lively band from Utah.

“There were three girls in particular but Animal has a lot more of the shakier lyrics, it was one of the relationships that impacted me the most and has the most personal lyrics.”
No matter how deep or dark the habits were, Glenn wasn’t afraid to share them with the world.
And it paid off for the band, with Animals reaching ARIA gold-selling status when it was released last year.

Neon Trees Tour

Neon Trees are heading down under for what will be their first official Australian tour. The band will entertain crowds in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with hits such as ‘Animal’ and ‘1983’.

Since first tasting a hint of fame as special guests on The Killers 2008 North American tour the band have since exploded out of the blocks. Signing a deal with Mercury Records shortly after the successful tour, they released their debut album Habits in America in 2010 to warm reviews and massive airplay across the country.

Trees Headed Down Under

" We may have introduced you to Neon Tree's rather fab single Animal in March last year, but it's taken a little while longer for mainstream Australia to cotton on to the track. It's in the top 40 now, don't you know, so what better time for the band to announce a promotional visit to Australia than now!
Yes indeed, the four piece will hit the ground running early next month for a raft of promotional commitments over five days, the band expected to fulfill duties in Sydney and Melbourne. "
